Mark Consuelos
Consuelos's early acting credits include Hello, Dolly at the Lookinghouse Glass Playhouse in Illinois, as well as guest appearances on television shows such as Fortune Hunter and SeaQuest. He has appeared off-Broadway in Boy's Life by Howard Korder, Orphans by Lyle Kessler and the Penguin Repertory production of One Shot, One Kill by Richard Vetere. This past summer, Consuelos traveled to Northern California to lens the Berkeley Theatre Project's short film, American Canyon, by Aaron Davidman.
However, Consuelos may be best known for his role on the long-running soap opera favorite, All My Children, for which he garnered the most attention. Playing the much-tormented Mateo Santos since he joined the cast in February 1995, Consuelos also met his future real-life wife, actress Kelly Ripa, where their characters (she played Hayley Vaughn on the series for twelve years) were paired on screen.
Consuelos is gearing up for the release of the upcoming Miramax WWII action film The Great Raid, which he shot in Australia. Set in the Philippines in 1945, it is based on the true story of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's secret raid on a POW camp to free Americans. Directed by John Dahl, the picture also stars Benjamin Bratt and James Franco and is set to be released later this year.
Last year, Consuelos was seen in the romantic comedy Beautiful Girl opposite Marissa Jaret Winokur for Disney/ABC Family Television.
Consuelos resides in New York City with Ripa and their children, Michael, Lola and Joaquin.
