John DiResta
John DiResta was a New York City Police Officer for 12 years, nine with the Transit Police and three with the NYPD, before becoming an actor. He used his experiences first by turning to stand-up comedy and creating the off-Broadway hit Beat: A Subway Cop's Comedy. In 1994, DiResta won the tile New York's Funniest Police Officer. He also developed and starred in his own television series, DiResta, which aired on the UPN Network. He continues to headline at New York's premiere comedy club Caroline's and was a frequent guest on CBS' Late, Late Show with Tom Snyder.
DiResta most recently appeared in the Sandra Bullock hit Miss Congeniality. His other feature film credits include Mickey Blue Eyes, Gloria and Hit and Runaway. He has also guest-starred on Law & Order and Providence.
