Ted Danson first teamed with Lawrence Kasdan on the director's debut film, Body Heat. For twelve years, Danson charmed television audiences with his portrayal of Sam Malone on the hit comedy series Cheers. The role earned him the Golden Globe Award in 1989 and 1990, the Emmy Award in 1990 and 1993, as well as several additional Emmy nominations. Prior to Cheers, Danson made his screen debut in the 1979 film of Joseph Wambaugh's The Onion Field. His popularity soared in 1987 when he starred opposite Tom Selleck and Steve Guttenberg in the hit comedy Three Men and a Baby. He went on to star in Cousins, Dad, Three Men and a Little Lady, and Made in America. Danson was most recently seen in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, as well as Homegrown, with Billy Bob Thornton, John Lithgow, Hank Azaria and Kelly Lynch.
On television, Danson can currently be seen in the CBS series Becker. He also recently starred opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in the Showtime production Thanks of a Grateful Nation. He starred opposite Mary Steenburgen in the CBS series Ink, which he also executive produced. Danson portrayed Lemuel Gulliver in the critically acclaimed miniseries Gulliver's Travels.
