David Prowse MBE is a body-builder and weightlifter from the United Kingdom, who was born on 07.01.1935 in Bristol. Outside the UK, he is most famous for playing the role of Darth Vader in the Star Wars epic, although James Earl Jones was dubbed over as Vader's voice. However within the UK he is perhaps as well known as Green Cross Code Man as a result of his association with the Green Cross code road safety campaign for children which ran between 1976 and 1990 and for which he received the MBE in 2000.
In the upcoming film Star Wars: Episode III, Hayden Christensen will wear the Darth Vader armor.
