PENÉLOPE CRUZ has been a celebrity in her native Spain since she hosted the television series La Quinta marcha as a teenager. Film audiences first saw her in the Oscar-winning Belle époque. She continued to star in Spanish films, working with director Pedro Almodóvar in Live Flesh (1997) and All About My Mother (1999). Cruz also played the same role in Abre los ojos (1997) and the American remake Vanilla Sky (2001). She made her American film debut in The Hi- Lo Country (1998), and also starred in Woman on Top (2000), All the Pretty Horses (2000), Blow (2001), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001) and Gothika (2003). Later this year, she will appear in Noel directed by Chazz Palminteri and Sahara with Matthew McConaughey.
