Mac Davis
Davis also has an active career in the music industry, writing hit songs for many country-western recording artists. He wrote In the Ghetto, Memories and Don't Cry Daddy for Elvis Presley, Slow Dancing with the Moon, Full Circle, Wait 'Til I Get You Home, White Limozeen and Wildest Dreams for Dolly Parton, and other songs for Kenny Rogers, Bobby Goldsboro and O.C. Smith. He has also written and recorded some of his own songs, including: I Believe in Music, Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me, Stop and Smell the Roses and One Hell of a Woman. He also scored five hit singles, with: Hooked on Music, Hard to Be Humble, Whoever Finds This I Love You, Texas in my Rearview Mirror and My Bestest Friend. Davis was selected as the Country Music Academy's Entertainer of the Year, Favorite Male Entertainer and was honored with the People's Choice Award.
