I first saw you on a Public TV program in the early 70's... something about Irish uprisings, I think. I've been a fan ever since. Thank you for your work. I was so happy to hear you really hadn't given up screen roles just before Titus Adronicus.

I think what women are attracted to with anthony hopkins is his ability to portray integrity, intelligence, dignity and honor. You can't really fake those attributes unless you have them. I have never seen anyone able to display those as well Anthony.

As for the strip club thing. Who gives a rat's ass. He's a man and he's human too. It goes against human nature for a single man NOT to be interested in sex. I mean, how is a man like him ever going to meet someone who is NOT after his money. He's met plenty of money grubbing losers. I hope that Stella really loves him. God bless them both.

PS Anthony hates computers. He wants nothing to do with them. He will never read these postings.

I wondered if anyone's heard the rumour about Tony buying a house in New Zealand? A friend in Wellington says he's bought a getway in the South Island but nobody knows where yet. Anyone heard that one?

by Claire
Hello I am Claire from Bournemouth and I have recently become his fan.

And I want to write to him, but I am not sure if he would write to me. I like playing the piano and want to learn more from him.

He is my role model. He is lovely and handsome.

He looks very good for his age.

I have got three films with him in and want to get more. I am getting a Dvd player on my Birthday 21st August I will be 23.

I never feel the age I am.

I really want to meet him, to see what he really is like in real life.

I want to share some things with him.

From Claire louise Trickett xxxxx

Hold on..... (Sat Oct 11, 2003 4:05am ET)report post

Haydn, you are too hard on the English! I spent most of my formative years holidaying in your beautiful country and I speak for thousands of us when I say that we English love Wales and it's people. Please don't assume that we all have the same opinion as Anne Robinson!
As for Anthony Hopkins, yeah, he's ok, but I think he acts the same in every film he does.
The same walk, talk, look, smile, shout......get the picture? But I thought he was amazing in "The Elephant Man" (along with John Hurt of course). For me, surely his best performance. But what a troubled man he is. He's basically a loner who likes to shoot off across America for weeks on end alone! This is not the behaviour of a married man, or at least it shouldn't be! No wonder really that he's now on his 3rd marriage. Don't get me wrong, good luck to his new wife. It won't last. A leopard never changes it's spots!!!!

Acts the same in all his movies? I think not. You are obviously not paying close enough attention. Looking, but not seeing, as it were. One thing I agree with 100%, however. I hope this particular leopard never changes his spots. While I wish him all the happiness in the world, I don't think marriage #3 will last either, and all I can say about that is YAY! I hate the idea of him being married again. Even though I will never meet him - I never even got a response to a fan letter I sent almost three years ago - I still hate the idea that he is married again. But, only time will tell, I suppose.

American Citizen? (Tue Sep 9, 2003 12:04am ET)report post

I didn't know Hopkins had become an American citizen. I have no disapproval of this but one question: Does this mean is he is no longer Sir Anthony Hopkins? I believe he was knighted some years back.
