The backlash of special interests was portrayed toward the end of the movie when his opponents conjured up a scheme to undermine his loyalty to the United States because of a technical error on his part. He opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb. These hearings occured during the post World War II era when McArtheyism ruled over the United States. November 25, 2008
