My daughter, who is 3, absolutely loves Max and Ruby. She would watch these dvd's all day if I let her! And I love the fact that you get 2 dvd's at such a low price. October 10, 2008

This is a really good combo pack. Afternoons shows some cute episodes of the siblings having some fun in their multitude of adventures. Dragon shirt is a cute episode on there. Party Time is one that we watch over & over because of the excitement of parties is demonstrated in each episode. It is a fun family video for small children. September 21, 2008

My boyfriends 4 year old daughter was very happy to receive this package dvd set for her birthday. She loves Max & Ruby and falls asleep to these dvd's every night. I thought it was a great value for two videos. September 19, 2008

rating: 1 QuoteBlatant gender stereotyping runs rampant...Quote
Max is a mischievous little bunny that speaks in one or two word "sentences", repeated over and over. He plays with mud, worms, helicopters, motorcycles, and trucks.

Ruby is Max's older sister and embodies the worst of the stereotypically "feminine". Her favorite activities include dressing up as a princess/cheerleader/movie star, baking cakes, gossiping on the phone, reading fashion magazines, etc. The episode that caused Max & Ruby to be oficially banned in our house features Ruby and her friend becoming bumbling idiots when a boy bunny, Roger (*sigh*), comes over to play. Roger ends up being the strong, silent jock type.

To recap:
Boys = inarticulate, interested only in sports, cars, and the occasional slimy insect.
Girls = fashion-obsessed, boy-crazy, nagging, and gossipy.

All in all, this is not a great DVD for anyone concerned with minimizing their kids' exposure to negative gender stereotypes. August 28, 2008

My two year old son always asks if he can watch Max & Ruby. It is his favorite show. This DVD set is perfect and we plan to bring it with us on trips so my son can watch them on his portable DVD player. The stories are always so cute and my son watches them with a smile on his face. July 9, 2008
