So I am now the proud owner of every single season of Roseanne! I bought the first couple seasons in Germany because I live there and I was getting homesick. As soon as I watched the first season I remembered why I always loved the show.... They remind me of my own family. Well, minus the crappy furniture and high school drop-outs anyway. It is def. the most realistic show I've ever seen. I have lived in Germany for three and a half years now and I am still adjusting to the people here. They are not as warm and friendly as the Americans are and so when I put on Roseanne it takes me back home. Not that Roseanne would be classified as "friendly", but the Conner family is def. very open and loving (in a different kind of way). If you are away from home or you are just sick and tired of the mindless garbage that they call TV nowadays, then "Roseanne" is just what you need. I am so happy I bought it and it was worth every penny!
October 8, 2008 | | Great Season Just Because of Episode 109
Season five is decent for various reasons but I would highly recommend it for no other reason than episode 109 titled "It's No Place Like Home for the Holidays". During the episode the Connors find themselves scattered throughout Lanford on Christmas Eve due to a massive snow storm. Dan, and DJ are left to cook Christmas dinner at home with Nancy and Marla (constantly under the mistletoe) and at David's house, Darlene gets a better look at his abusive home life. I'd say the real magic of the episode is at the Lunchbox, where Roseanne, Jackie, and Bev ponder the meaning of life and how to decorate Nana Mary. This is a great Christmas themed sitcom episode!
September 16, 2008Roseanne is always a dependable laugh! Her 5th season is no different. Shipped & arrived just as described.
September 14, 2008 | | The best season... Period!!!
Roseanne - The Complete Fifth Season is a slam dunk! I love, love, love every episode from season 5. The show really came into its own, the writing is stellar to say the least. Becky elopes with Mark, Darlene and David continue to date and he moves in with the Connor's after Roseanne finds out his mother is verbally and phyiscally abusive. Jackie falls for Fisher, a much younger guy who eventually hits her in the best episode of the entire series, Crime and Punishment Parts 1 and 2. Roseanne opens the Lunch Box, a loose meat restuarant and etc. I HIGHLY recommend this season, enjoy!
July 25, 2008 | | still another great season
Yet another great season of Roseanne-I just love this show and when the series took a turn and the family won the lottery, it all went downhill from there. So I will be stopping my collection at that point. However, this is a great season.
