Valentín Trujillo es un joven taxista que cuenta con una gran habilidad para pelear, y aunque tiene ofrecimientos para convertirse en boxeador profesional, no lo hace porque a su madre no le agrada ese deporte y quiere algo mejor en la vida para él. Un día conoce a Gabriela, una joven de buena posición económica, y se enamora de ella. Con el incentivo de superarse para poder merecerla, Valentín decide aceptar el ofrecimiento de uno de los promotores. Se convierte en boxeador profesional, enfrentando toda la corrupción que existe en ese deporte para salir adelante y casarse con su novia.
