are two different things. You may judge a dvd cover, apart from
the dvd and its contents. The original movie poster (which may be
found on wikipedia) for this movie, had the following tag line:
He can fly a jet, race a car and outsmart a computer. The
government created him and now they want him destroyed.
The artwork of the original movie poster is what should have
graced the cover of this dvd, rather than the two composite
images of sombebody who might be Daryl carrying a bat, and
another boy who does not look like Daryl but is wearing a
helmet. Frankly, the photography on this dvd cover is awful,
and unfortunately is emblazoned on the dvd too.
A sentence written in English and a sentence written in
Hebrew are read in the opposite direction to each other.
The photographic art on this dvd cover is an example of
religous art, but it is blasphemy. For this is an obvious
reference to Isaiah 9:6, KJV: "the government shall be
upon his shoulders". The trouble with this artwork is that
when you look upon the verse Isaiah 9:6, will you see the
artwork on this dvd cover, or the Holy Child Jesus?
Biblical verses ought not to appear next to images, for what
images will you see when you look upon a verse? There is an
expression, "A picture is worth a thousand words". See,
Proverbs 30:5-6, KJV.
The names of two actors appear on the dvd cover, and taken
together, their names spell out a sentence: Mary Beth hurt
Michael McKean.
The soul of a man is female: See, Psalm 34:2, KJV. His
masculinity covers him. Boys who have been hurt, according
to some psychology textbooks may take refuge in
weight-training, clothing themselves with an armor of muscle,
or they might obtain an edge weapon, or a ballistic weapon.
Is Daryl uncovered, or is it his friend Turtle who needs
protecting?
My favourite line in this movie is when a military person says
to another military person, "A child with a stick of chewing gum
has just rendered your million dollar piece of hardware useless.
Any suggestions?"
A cyborg without good code is just a robot: See, Jeremiah 23:29, KJV.
Daryl and Turtle, are both weak and strong. You need both Truth and
Love. Turtle has a "hard shell" and is better able to cope with the
world of adults than Daryl is, and so he is protective towards Daryl,
not envying Daryl's gifts. But Turtle is also dangerous for he knows
a lot of "bad words", is angry. And you hope Turtle does not rob Daryl
of his innocence. Daryl and Turtle are co-operative, rather than
competitive, each has something to teach the other. Turtle is poetic,
whereas Daryl is algebraic, with respect to both language and emotion.
Yet, they manage to "network", and unlike the adults, are not
competitive.
