About Seasons of the Heart
When Jed and Martha Richards agree to raise young, orphaned Daniel, Jed is delighted. But Martha, still grieving for her two little girls who died on the trek across the American Plains, finds herself swept away each day in a thousand wistful memories. As her golden-haired daughters dance through her aching heart, she can’t help comparing them to this awkward, dirty young boy who annoys her at every turn - and needs her so desperately. Jed and Danny both reach out to Martha, yet her anguish isolates her and threatens the marriage relationship. But spring sometimes comes unexpectedly, and for Martha it comes on a snowy Christmas Eve when Danny’s innocent heart is finally able to rescue hers.

| A wonderful family film |
Circumstances are such that (and this happens very early in the film, so I'm not giving anything away) the couple is given watchcare over a boy who was orphaned during his similar trip west. The story that follows is heartwarming and well told.
This is a limited budget film that comes off quite successfully and authentically. Acting by leading man Sam Hennings (the father), and Danny the boy (Logan Hall) is just top shelf in every respect. Leigh Lombardi is a very, very lovely woman and is beautiful in this role, but somehow did not quite seem to live up to the performance level that the rest of the cast did. She was rather wooden (perhaps an effort to portray grief, but whatever, it didn't work well). I'm not really familiar with her, but her voice comes across terribly on the screen.
Notwithstanding the Leigh Lombardi weakness, I'll give this movie 5 stars for the story, directing, production values, and the rest of the acting.
There is a Christmas theme to this story, but it's easily watchable at any time of the year. Wonderful film. You'll enjoy it. October 9, 2007

| Movie FOR the heart |
I couldn't help from crying over and over because the movie was so touching and plays with your emotions greatly.
It starts out as when a mother and father, now parentless because of the death of their two daughters, are given a boy to take care of around the age of seven or eight. The father begins to love the boy, but how can the mother when her two beautiful daughters are dead? Always turning cold towards the boy, the mother doesn't know how to love him....but then again...hearts can be mended in Seasons of the Heart. August 20, 2005
