Since I've already reviewed some of the other movies in this multipack, I will reserve this review to just "Airport" which is the first in this series. This movie tracks the flight of a 707 with a disturbed man with a bomb in his brief case. He is no terrorist, but in the days before airport screenings, he simply sits down with his bomb in his lap. Eventually he blows himself up in the bathroom and the plane is forced to land in a snowstorm in Chicago.

This movie was filmed in Minneapolis, MN because they figured it would have a better chance for actual snow conditions. Ultimately they needed to manufacture snow for effects. It is too bad they couldn't manufacture some acting talent as well. The passengers all appear to be morons, and the plane crew can't seem to deliver a decent line. Dean Martin plays the co-pilot with the hots for a stewardess (OK, so there is a bit of realism in the movie) but the dialogue is lame and uninspiring.

This movie launched a series of sequels, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps other people wanted to show this film crew "how to do it right" or something like that. This movie is a sleeper and if you are still awake at film's end, you can give yourself a merit badge. November 2, 2008

I love the Airport movies. I was so glad to get all of them together. I can't make up my mind which I like the best. I like that some of the actors are carried through to other movies. The actors and actresses are recognizable and protray believable parts. It makes for a good afternoon or evening movie marathon. October 24, 2008

Well; I have to agree with the critics that the plot is kinda hokey. All the major illegal arms dealers that I have heard of seem to be well-protected by their governments! Anyhow, I missed this in the theatre when it came out, and saw it for the first time as a TV movie sometime early fall 1981. As fate would have it, I flew on Air France Concorde about two weeks later. (not the one that crashed - I checked!) My total of three rides I had on Concorde were three of the most fun days of my life. I remembered the "right turn" onto the runway in the opening sequence when leaving Charles De Gaulle airport. Seeing this movie brings back fond memories, and I always enjoy seeing it. I think the one thing I miss the most as I get older is seeing Concorde fly. Overall, a good flick! October 13, 2008

My girlfriend and I enjoyed watching these movies. It is a great collection and is neat to see how movie-making and culture changes from 1970 to 1979. We would have to say that the first and second movies were the best, the third was not bad at all, but the 1979 Concorde was a little silly. The scenes in the cabin during the 360 degree rolls are quite entertaining. The one good thing about the 1979 Concorde movie is all the photography and scenes of this beautiful airplane. Anyway, we recommend the collection, especially if you are an aviation buff, or just like disaster movies about airplanes. Each movie has an all-star cast, and the acting is very good. By the way, DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILERS ON THE DVDs BECAUSE THEY GIVE AWAY THE WHOLE PLOT AND ALL THE GOOD SCENES!! Watch the trailers last after you watch the movies! June 9, 2008
