About Jill The Ripper

When his high powered brother is brutally murdered, Murray Wilson (Dolph Lundgren), a former boxer and San Francisco cop, launches his own investigation. Rejecting the police theory that the murder is the work of a female prostitute, Wilson infiltrates the powerful underground world of political intrigue and illicit affairs. What he discovers is a twisted realm of sexual bondage and dark violence. And when a series of other men turn up bound and murdered, Wilson's obsession with finding the killer mounts. As he sinks deeper into a web of corruption and deceit, his own lines between right and wrong become blurred and he begins to lose all objectivity.

I enjoyed everything including the gothic soundtrack that this movie has.
Dolph shows weakness and vulnerability which enhances his acting skills. He shows acting versatility with a different image in this movie as well.
He plays a mild alcoholic ex cop who investigates his brother's murder.
I believe this is one of Dolph's best roles ever!
Bottom line, this is a 5 star movie, dont miss it! April 24, 2008

Takes Dolph Lundgren movies into a different direction, but not to bad considering that the action that I expect from a Lundgren movie was lacking it still kept me interested. It was nice to see that Dolph can do a horror-thriller and pull it of. He was actually kind of a drunken low-life character compared to the hero types that he usually plays. Different but good. JILL THE RIPPER is set in the world of kinky sex, and with a serial killer who offs men she feels deserve it. Dolph Lundgren offers a pretty lame performance as the hero, an ex-cop who returns to Boston in the 1970s (why there-who knows?) when his high profile brother is brutally slain by the aforesaid Jill the Ripper. The killer's identity becomes pretty apparent early on in the film and Lundgren's attempts to bring emotion to his role as the alcoholic sleuth fail miserably. Even in the fight scenes he has, Dolph seems listless and lethargic. Director Anthony Hickox should have insisted on more passion from Dolph and maybe this film could have become a little more involving. May 20, 2005

While some are trashing this movie cuase its not your typical Dolph film, I'd tell you to rent it anyways--or buy it--like I did. Its not an action flick, so dont think you'll see Dolph with big guns. Its a mystery, so sit back and enjoy. The killer is pretty much known from the get-go, but its still a good film, and Dolph is getting so much better as an actor. Rent Masters of the Universe and then watch Jill The Ripper. You'll see an amazing difference. Kudos to Hickox and Dolph for a job well done. June 27, 2004

DOLPH LUNDGREN SINKS TO AN ALL-NEW LOW IN THIS MOVIE. THIS TIME, DOLPH PLAYS A FORMER COP WHO RETURNS TO HIS OLD TOWN IN THE 70S TO INVESTIGATE THE MURDER OF HIS BROTHER. DOLPH GIVES WHAT HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST WOODEN PERFORMANCE OF HIS CAREER IN THIS ONE. ACTIONLESS PLOT REALLY KILLS THIS ONE. EVEN THE BIGGEST DOLPH LUNDGREN FAN WILL HATE THIS MOVIE. NOT EVEN WORTH A RENTAL. SAVE YOUR MONEY INSTEAD. June 15, 2004
